My Views On PC Gaming![]() I essentially think that there's only 2 reasons that people will only buy PC games. First of all, they either don't own a console or don't want to. Or, they just like strategy games. Because that's the only thing that works on a PC aside from MMO's or MMORPG's. Strategy's on a PC game just suit perfectly because of the easy mouse and keyboard setup and because graphics don't matter that much. They also suit perfectly because they don't fit in on a console. Every strategy on a console has been somewhat of a failure and now that developers are determined to make them work, ie. Halo Wars, the PC would struggle even more in the gaming business. To me, I think the only reason that keeps the PC going in the gaming industry is the mouse and keyboard. If you plugged a mouse and keyboard into a console then you'd make the PC obsolete. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind some PC games. However i'm talking The Sims, Civilization, Command and Conquer and every other game that failed on the PC-to-Console conversion. And don't think buying a gamepad makes the PC a console, because it just doesn't. It defeats the object of not buying a console. Sure there was Crysis, but the first thing on everybody's mind was "Is it going to work". Did they really have to make a game that needs such an expensive computer to keep up it's rep? I even find it extremely hard to control. Again, you could just plug a gamepad in but then i'd be asking all sorts of questions like "Why wasn't Crysis made on Xbox 360?" There's also the price-to-reliability ratio. People are ALWAYS having PC issues and technical problems. You buy a top of the range gaming PC for £1,000 ($1,600) and the first game you play could be GTA IV, which you only payed £25 ($40) for, that's nearly half the price of a console game, and you find that you're not allowed to play it because your rig ain't good enough. Are you going to shell out another couple of hundred bucks just to make a game that's months old work? It leaves me to beg the question, will the PC ever be qualified gaming hardware again, or was it only ever ment for the office? By GamerMan
