It's good... except for the dumb life lessons at times, the very rare deaths despite the fact that it's about ninjas, and that stupid catch phrase "believe it."
If it was aimed more towards adults, it could be a magnificent anime. I haven't seen shippuden, so, I am unsure how different that is from the original.
And... I have no idea.

I've watched all the originals and all the shuppuden ones that are English dubbed (not a fan of subtitles.)
Like Visi said, its not a bad show. However the entire time i could stop HATING these mouthy, arrogant, stupid, gullible brats. Also, what the hell kind of a ninja is constantly so easily beaten by beginners? They slay countless enemies, then lose to a bunch of kids? The intelligence and ability of the people in Naruto are never constant. One second they'll be ultra powerful, the next they'll be rapped by a tree frog (And not the super ultra ninja frogs either).
Theres only a few Shuppuden episodes out, but so far it looks pretty cool.
